For 40 days leading up to Easter, Renew Church is going to participate in a "season of surrender." Jesus once said "if you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it." Over 8 weeks, we'll uncover exactly what Jesus meant by examining his teaching and the example he lived out that took him to the cross. Alongside our series, we'll also participate in some new twists on popular Lent traditions and spiritual disciplines including Lenten sacrifice, online daily devotions, virtual prayer meetings and more! Exodus Chapters 7:8-9:35
These passages describe the first seven plagues that God sends upon Egypt in order to persuade Pharaoh to release the Israelites from slavery. Moses and Aaron, acting as messengers of God, perform various miraculous signs and wonders before Pharaoh and his magicians, turning the Nile river to blood, sending swarms of frogs, gnats, and flies, causing disease to afflict the livestock, and bringing hail, locusts, and darkness upon the land. Despite these demonstrations of God's power, Pharaoh refuses to release the Israelites.
