Psalm 95: The Power of Worship and the Peril of Procrastination

Elder Barry Jones invites us to explore the power of worship and the dangers of a hardened heart. The psalm begins with a joyful call to praise God, emphasizing how worship interconnects us as a community and ignites our faith. We're reminded that God is the center of our adoration, and that we are 'the sheep of His hand.' This beautiful imagery speaks to God's tender care for us. However, the psalm takes a sharp turn, warning us not to harden our hearts as the Israelites did at Meribah and Massah. This urgent message teaches us to learn from history and remain open to God's voice. We're challenged to guard our hearts against the many influences in our modern world that can lead us astray from God's path.
