Clothing Donations for Syrian Refugees

If you’re cleaning out your closet during the change of seasons, we know some families who would appreciate your used clothing. Read on for two ways to donate:

1. The Aldarwish Family

Renew Milton is sponsoring a refugee family from Syria whom we expect to arrive in 2017. Their sizes are as follows (please note these are European sizes and kids have 9-12 months of growing before they arrive in Canada):

  • Wassim (father): shoe 43, jacket L-XL, waist 100cm
  • Nadia (mother): shoe 38, jacket M, waist 88cm
  • Ebtessam (grandmother): shoe 38, jacket XL,
    waist 115cm
  • George (age 10): shoe 36, jacket 42, waist 72cm
  • Sam (age 7): shoe 34, jacket 38, waist 64cm

2. Syrian families arriving in Mississauga

Government-sponsored Syrian refugees arriving in Mississauga spend 1-3 months at the Comfort Inn as a transition point while they await housing. The manager at the hotel is concerned over their lack of warm clothing, and right now there’s an urgent need for them to get warmer coats/hats/mitts. We’re going to try to help. If you have any winter wear around that you can part with, please bring it to Renew so we can get them to these families in need. We need all children’s sizes. You can bring your donations to church until Sunday, November 20, or contact us with your questions:
