The COVID-19 pandemic has put tremendous strain on our local food banks, and right now their needs are greater than ever. If you are looking for ways to give this Christmas season, we would like to encourage you to support one of the following food banks in the communities we serve:
MEADOWVALE:
Eden Food for Change
Every week, Eden Food for Change purchases skids of food from The Ontario Food Terminal. Eden's aim is to provide nutritious and well-balanced food for everyone who needs their assistance.
MILTON:
Salvation Army Food Bank Khi Community
In monitoring recent public health guidelines relating to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Salvation Army has made the tough decision to pause all in-person elements of the 2020 Milton Kettle Campaign until further notice. Your support would be a great help
MAYFIELD WEST:
Heart Lake Food Cupboard
The Heart Lake Food Cupboard works with Heart Lake United Church to distribute food to those in need on Wednesday. At the link below, use the drop down menu to designate funds to the Food Cupboard.
CAMBRIDGE:
Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank
This year, the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank will provide 1,500 Christmas meals to families in need. Each donation will buy a ham, chicken, or turkey plus the donated amount in gift cards to local grocery stores for hungry people in the community who are hit harder than ever this year due to COVID-19.
